Law of the jungle!

Delighted to deliver the opening address at The Great Big Legal Offsite (GBLO).

Standing Tall: Integrity in the Jungle.

In a profession built for speed, for competition, and increasingly for automation, integrity is not a soft value you keep in reserve for when things get difficult. It is the very thing that lets you stand tall when everything else in the jungle is telling you to put your head down, move fast, and worry about the consequences later.

But here is the part of the jungle we do not talk about enough. Standing tall is exhausting. Leadership, competition, constant adaptation, the relentless pace this profession now demands, all of it takes a toll.

This is where the work of The Solicitors’​ Charity is so important. The charity exists for exactly this moment, when life in the jungle becomes too much. It provides financial support to solicitors and their dependents facing hardship, illness, or unexpected crisis.

It funds emotional and mental health support through its grant to LawCare – the mental health charity for the legal sector and that support is not limited to solicitors alone, it reaches paralegals, legal assistants, practice managers, everyone who keeps this profession running.
