Dear David,

Criminal Courts Reform

As you know, the Committee has been examining the Government’s proposed reforms
to the criminal courts in England and Wales. We are aware that the Government will
shortly be bringing forward a Bill, the accompanying impact assessments and a formal
response to Sir Brian Leveson’s Independent Review of the Criminal Courts. In the
meantime, the Committee wanted to put a number of questions to the Government
on the proposed reforms and to highlight several issues.

A letter from the Justice Committee to Rt Hon David Lammy MP discussing the proposed reforms to the criminal courts in England and Wales.
