Next week Chair of the Bar Council, Barbara Mills KC will join the All-Party Parliamentary Group on

Legal and Constitutional Affairs to discuss the government’s policies on tackling violence against women and girls (VAWG).

This event is open for all members of the Bar to join online, with a Q&A towards the end of the session.

As part of its manifesto, the government pledged to halve violence against women and girls in a decade as part of its wider mission to halve serious violent crime. Although it is often considered solely a criminal issue, many instances of VAWG take place within the home and, sometimes, comes only before the family courts.
