” The Ministry of Justice UK Online Procedure Rule Committee (OPRC) has published its first Consultation document.” Lubna Shuja

The Ministry of Justice UK Online Procedure Rule Committee (OPRC) has published its first Consultation document on the work it has done so far in setting out draft principles and standards for pre-action online dispute resolution and advice. The consultation can be found at:
https://lnkd.in/eXZV9gwR.

The OPRC held a Conference yesterday to discuss the Consultation, beginning with a Keynote Address from the Master of the Rolls, Sir Geoffrey Vos. I joined a panel with Lord Justice Birss, Lord Justice Baker, Dr Sarah Moffatt Stephens Gerard Boyers, Mrs Justice Smith Donal Galligan and Martha de la Roche to discuss the Consultation document in a packed room of over 100 people at The Law Society. It was great to hear attendees welcomed the proposals and gave positive feedback on the draft Framework and Model.

The OPRC is keen to hear from as many individuals, organisations, charities and businesses involved in dispute resolution as possible with feedback on the proposals. The Consultation is open for responses until 5pm on 19 September 2025 so please do let us have your thoughts, suggestions and ideas for the Digital Justice System of the future.

Thanks to Jenifer Swallow and Rhys Taylor for some of the pics! The last pic is of the OPRC, its sub-committees and the team at Ministry of Justice UK who have all worked very hard on producing the Consultation.
