In the week since the Convention for the Protection of the Profession of Lawyers opened for signatures 17 countries including Ireland and the UK have already signed.

The Convention aims to strengthen the rule of law and, in so doing, the protection of legal professionals whose work is fundamental to the administration of justice and the protection of human rights.
