Last week I joined Browne Jacobson’s Reach Mentoring programme along with Shaun Wallace from ITV ‘s The Chase. We shared our stories and insights from our professional and personal journeys, reflecting on what it took to keep going when, at first, we didn’t succeed.

We spoke about resilience, perseverance, self-belief and the importance of not allowing setbacks to define your future. Success is rarely a straight line; sometimes it is about having the courage to keep moving forward when the path ahead is uncertain.

For me, this is at the heart of my PUSH philosophy: Persevere Until Something Happens. It isn’t a slogan. It’s a discipline. Every door is open if you PUSH.

As Nelson Mandela famously said: “It always seems impossible until it’s done.”

To the young people we met: never underestimate what is possible. Your starting point does not determine your destination. Keep learning, keep believing, keep pushing and remember that sometimes the setback is simply part of the story. Four times, four attempts is part of my story.
