“I Once Sat Where You Are Today…”
Those were the words I shared recently with students at Falconhurst School and I was deeply moved to see them featured in the Milton Keynes Citizen newspaper.
“One of the most moving moments came from Dr I. Stephanie Boyce, whose remarkable achievements have broken barriers across the legal profession. Standing before a hall full of captivated children, she said: “As the first person of colour and the first Black President, and only the sixth woman to lead the Law Society of England and Wales, I once sat where you are today. I believe every one of you can achieve anything you set your mind to.”
For many pupils, those words were transformational. They saw someone who looked like them, who had overcome challenges, defied expectations and reached the very top of her profession. The message was simple but powerful: your circumstances do not define your future.” Milton Keynes Citizen Newspaper.
If my story helps even one young person believe that their aspirations are within reach, then every school visit is worthwhile.
Thank you to the Milton Keynes Citizen for capturing this special moment.
