I. Stephanie Boyce CBE FKCI: What advice would you give to aspiring lawyers seeking to enter the profession now?

I was delighted to return to the city of Manchester to spend time with Future Women Lawyers UoM for their end of year dinner as their guest of honour.

As the plastic food containers came out, it took me back to being a student, it reminded me of how far I have come, but how uncertain the world remains for those seeking to enter our profession now, amidst growing technological capabilities and a fiercely competitive, uncertain market.

Technological advancement is reshaping the way legal services are delivered, competition for opportunities remains intense, and the pathways into practice can often feel uncertain and complex.

Looking around the room, I was reminded that every generation faces its own challenges. The future will belong not necessarily to those who know all the answers, but to those willing to keep learning, adapting and leading with purpose.

My question to the legal profession: What advice would you give to aspiring lawyers seeking to enter the profession now?
