  • Visit of the Supreme Court of DenmarkOn 18 and 19 May 2026, a delegation from the Supreme Court of Denmark, led by its President, Jens Peter Christensen, visited the Court of Justice of the European Union. Participants took part in a series of working sessions and roundtable discussions and attended a hearing before the Grand Chamber.
  • Hearing: Case C-407/25 TerstenOn Tuesday 19 May 2026, the Court of Justice will hear Case C-407/25 Tersten, concerning suspected customs fraud and the obligation of national authorities to inform the European Public Prosecutor’s Office of investigations into crimes against the EU budget.
  • Hearing: C-627/24 P Bytedance v CommissionOn Tuesday 12 May 2026, the Court of Justice will hear case C-627/24 P Bytedance v Commission – an appeal concerning the designation of Bytedance, the owner of Tiktok, as a “gatekeeper” under the Digital Markets Act.
  • Visit of the Caribbean Court of JusticeOn 27-30 April 2026, a delegation from the Caribbean Court of Justice visited the Court of Justice of the European Union. The programme included information sessions and presentations, exchanges with Members and staff of the Court, and attendance at hearings of the Grand Chamber.
  • Visit by the Romanian Constitutional CourtOn 20 and 21 April 2026, a delegation from the Romanian Constitutional Court, led by its President Elena-Simina Tănăsescu, visited the Court of Justice of the European Union, taking part in a series of working sessions and attending a hearing before the Grand Chamber.

  • European Law Moot Court Final 2026The European final of the 2026 European Law Moot Court Competition will take place on 17 April at the Court of Justice of the European Union, where eight teams will plead before Members of the Court of Justice and the General Court.
  • Hearing: Case C-661/24 Académie Fiscale and OthersOn Tuesday 14 April 2026, the Court of Justice will hear case C-661/24 Académie Fiscale and Others, concerning whether national legislation can require operators to retain certain communications data from all users for a limited period to prevent fraud and abuse on their networks.
  • Recent judgment: Joined cases C-696/23 P Pumpyanskiy, C-704/23 P Khudaverdyan C-711/23 P Rashnikov C-35/24 P Mazepin and C-111/24 P Khan v CouncilRestrictive measures adopted by the EU against leading businesspersons operating in key sectors of the Russian economy.
