“After the government announcement today to curtail jury trials, I point out that there’s no evidence it will reduce the backlog and it’s an untested constitutional change being brought into a stressed system.

The current system used to work. It can again.

Invest in justice and rule of law. After all,
it’s a key part of a functioning liberal democracy.”
