There has been an explosion of technology; you can’t escape it;
everyone is talking about AI, artificial intelligence, and its transformative
power to revolutionise our lives and make our lives so much more meaningful.
And for those of us familiar with AI, we both laud its potential and caution against its limitations.
The AI industry is projected to become an £800 billion industry by 2028.
Tech companies that operate as small states and wield more power and influence
than imagined a few years ago, having a huge impact on world order and disorder.
8 out of 10 of the world’s billionaires are tech billionaires.
We find ourselves having to navigate daily algorithms, information, misinformation, deep fakes,
cybercrime, and the wild, wild west of social media fuelled by a desire to express oneself freely.
I recently read: “Artificial intelligence provides numerous benefits such as reducing human errors,
time saving capabilities, digital assistance, and unbiased decisions.
” Really??? AI is only as good as the data it is trained on and can end up reproducing its own racism,
sexism, and more, exposing users to filtered biases, positive and negative, leading to a lack of trust.

The public must be reassured that the information they are being fed is accurate, unbiased, and ethical.
As AI becomes more integral to our lives, the public and the rule of law must be better protected so we
can all live better lives; a better balance must be struck between innovation and regulatory oversight.
What do you think?
