Tana #Adkin KC: “On this my last Day as Chair I reflect on two years that have been challenging but inspiring.”

On this my last Day as Chair I reflect on two years that have been challenging but inspiring. Through strike action, two governments, 4 Lord Chancellors, 2 Attorney Generals, continuous negotiations on fees, the backlog, listing problems, prison-overcrowding, the riots, it has been testing ….and yet along the way I have met many fantastic people committed to criminal justice: Lords, Judges, Solicitors, members of other Specialist and International Bar Associations, from the CPS, the Inns, Police and Police Commissioners, Charitiies, the Bar Council, the BSB and court staff everywhere I went … to list all the individuals I met that support the Criminal Bar would be a very long one but I tip my wig to them all. To find so many that value Criminal Justice as we at the Criminal Bar do showed me we are, despite how we feel sometimes, not alone. To Sue and all in my Chambers at 15NBS, our wonderful Circuit Leaders, WICL, the fantastic CBA Officers and Executive Chairs and members, to James and Aaron and all at the Criminal Bar, to every individual who helped and supported me thank you so much,

I bid you farewell. It’s been emotional.
