Nobel laureates, constitutionalists and a former president of The Law Society at the Summer School of the Academy of Sciences of #Moldova.

On August 27-31, 2024, the Summer School “The Path to Scientific Discoveries” will be held at the Academy of Sciences of Moldova. The event is aimed at pupils and students passionate about science and technology and is organized with the aim of promoting scientific research activity and demonstrating the impact of science and innovations on everyday life and social well-being.

The Summer School program includes lectures from various fields, such as medicine, nanotechnologies, information technologies, engineering, biology, social sciences, economics and law, etc. Among the speakers will be presidents and vice-presidents of the Academies of Sciences of the Republic of Moldova and Romania, Prof. Klaus Mainzer, President of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts, Salzburg, Austria, Dr. Marian Enache, President of the Constitutional Court of Romania, Prof. Anthony Watts, Great Britain, President of the International Union of Biophysics, rectors of universities, as well as other experts of international stature, including Nobel Laureates Prof. Konstantin Novoselov from the University of Manchester, UK and Prof. Rattan Lal from Ohio State University, USA, both honorary members of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova. I. Stephanie Boyce is the Former President of the Law Society of England and Wales. In March 2021 she made history becoming the 177th, the sixth female and the first person of colour to become president. During her tenure as president she successfully steered the profession through a number of world crises which challenged the legal sector like never before including the Covid 19 pandemic, holding the line in difficult times and helping the Law Society to define its core public value in the 21st century, whilst redefining how it delivered and remained true to those core values in a digital world.

The lectures of the Summer School will be held in Romanian and English. Although it will be a hybrid event, the number of places with physical presence in the Azurie Hall of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova is limited, and participants will be selected according to the level of knowledge of English and the motivation presented in the form. Those interested are invited to register by filling out the Online Form by August 15th, 2024.

This event is an excellent opportunity for active, creative and eager students to accumulate new knowledge and a special opportunity to make an exciting incursion into the world of science. Interacting with well-known researchers from various fields of science and colleagues from different schools will help them understand more deeply the notions and mysteries of science, being a conscious step to embrace a career in research in the future.

The summer school is organized by the Academy of Sciences of Moldova in cooperation with the Romanian Academy and the Youth Academy of the Republic of Moldova.
