Class of 2024!
Yesterday, I returned to King’s College London to deliver the alumni address. It was a full-circle moment for me, having graduated from King’s in 2010 with a Master of Laws in Public Law and Global Governance. At the time, I didn’t know where that qualification would take me, but I have since experienced firsthand the transformative power of a good education.
Along the way, I have learnt to believe in my potential to make a positive difference and not underestimate the impact I can have on the world.
And in a time where there is so much hatred and mean-spiritedness in the world, my hope is that we can move our focus away from what divides us towards what unites us. We may not always agree or see eye to eye, but my wish is that we will not continue to focus on what we disagree on but on what we can agree on. Let’s stop the division and find the common ground that unites us.
With love, gratitude, and respect, I wish you all a peaceful weekend.
