#IBA Mid Year Meetings and #BarLeadersConference a success hosted by the #BucharestBar

The Bucharest Bar, through the voice of Dean Av. Dr. Aurel Ciobanu, informs Law professionals

about the organization of the most important international law event ever hosted by Romania:

International Bar Association (I.B.A.), which will take place between May 22 and 24, 2024,

under the name IBA Mid Year Meetings and Bar Leaders Conference.

Bucharest Law deserves the recognition of the value and expertise of each of its members, so we have succeeded

in an unprecedented approach, organizing in Bucharest the most important Legal event in the modern history of the Bar.

IBA, the most prestigious international organization in the field, brings to Romania hundreds of first-rate guests of the

world legal world, leaders of the profession from all continents.

Romania’s involvement in this project underlines its position as a center of interest and professional development within

the international legal community. Hosting this event in Bucharest is a recognition of the high professional standards and

contribution of Romanian lawyers to global dialogues and practices.

This initiative places Bucharest alongside other major European capitals hosting large-scale professional events,

offering the Bucharest Bar the opportunity to interact with a significant number of fellow lawyers from around the world.

The Mid Year Conference brings most of IBA Officers, the Senior Leadership and the representatives of the Membership organizations, ie

Bar Associations and Law Societies and their Presidents, together.

It is important as the work of the IBA is coordinated and further developed, the Council, the highest organ of the IBA

meets and decides on issues like strategy, budget, new membership organizations to be approved and the Management Board

also discusses events, legal and regulatory issues concerning the legal profession around the world.

Also the cochairs of the three sections of IBA and of Committees, Regional Foras meet to coordinate their work and events.

Furthermore, some of the leading lawyers and law firms from around the world are gathering and meeting each other

The interaction with the local and national Bar Association is a highlight and it is intended to be every year in a different

jurisdiction to interact, understand with the legal community like the one in Bucharest and Romania

the Rule of Law around the world by being or becoming part of IBA, the Global Voice of the Legal Profession and
