Silvia Uscov, with 13 years as a business lawyer in Bucharest, Romania, has expanded her expertise over the last 5 years into the domains of Cybersecurity, Cybercrime, and AI. She has guided businesses to align with cybersecurity regulations and standards, and offered specialised legal representation in cybercrime cases, undertaking both activities in collaboration with premier technical experts. In the AI sector, she has provided advice on compliance with data governance, adherence to best cybersecurity practices, and, more recently, alignment with the EU AI Act.

Since March 2024, she has become Senior CSFI Fellow for Romania with a strategic focus on cybersecurity law. Cyber Security Forum Initiative is an organization based in Omaha (Nebraska) and Washington DC, with a mission to provide Cyber Warfare awareness, guidance, and security solutions through collaboration, education, volunteer work, and training to assist the US Government, US Military, Commercial Interests, and International Partners.

Leveraging her extensive experience representing clients before the European Court of Human Rights and driven by an ever-evolving learning ethos, she skillfully ensures a harmonious balance between strict regulatory compliance and the preservation of human rights, guiding clients and policy-makers through the complex intersection of technology and law with a keen eye for ethical integrity.

Lastly, Silvia has developed a specialised course for legal professionals keen on deepening their expertise in cybersecurity (”Decrypt the Law, Hack the Threats – Cybersecurity Course for Legal Professionals”). She is often invited as a speaker on these topics, including at events such as Women in Data Science (under the patronage of Stanford University), writes legal articles on these subjects, and has coordinated authors in the field.
