It isn’t as complex as people suggest to implement the @RichardMoorhead
proposal. A short piece of legislation could quash convictions cited in a schedule (with the power to add others later if they came to light). That would cut everyone other than parliament out of the loop. It’s possible a few guilty people could unfairly have convictions quashed, but the benefits would in my view greatly outweigh that consideration in this quite exceptional stain on our justice system.
