I. Stephanie Boyce FKC, FRSA: “I joined colleagues at #CliffordChance to discuss the importance of #socialmobility.”

Shared Prosperity…

While I have come a long way since the start of my journey, I know the power social mobility has to enrich lives for some and how limiting it can be for others.

Social mobility straddles everything, if you are poor, you are poor, it doesn’t matter your gender, race, sexuality, disability, age, etc. In 21st century Britain, social class remains the strongest predictor of life outcomes in this country. We remain a divided nation with growing social inequality, particularly in relation to education, jobs, housing, health, and access to justice.

The main political parties and the next government must do more to level the playing field to ensure that a good education, access to a job in financial and professional services, and narrowing the gap in healthcare inequality, justice, and housing are not the preserve of those who can most afford the privilege of access.

I joined colleagues at Clifford Chance to discuss the importance of social mobility. Thank you, Felicity Flynn, Gemma Mills, and members of the RISE Network, for all you are doing to raise awareness of issues relating to social mobility.
